Lake front luxury with mixed materiality
Boles Residence
During my time working for Smith Lake Landscaping, I had the privilege of contributing to the Boles landscape design project. This project presented an already primed canvas with a distinct feel and established plant palette. The existing ferns, hydrangeas, and redbuds on-site prior to our consultations served as a wellspring of inspiration for the expansion of the plantings. The Boles family had a specific vision in mind, seeking a rework of their front entry and driveway to create a more pronounced sense of arrival as visitors made their way to the front door of their residence.
To achieve these goals, our approach involved a strategic sequence of actions. We recognized the significance of removing smaller trees to streamline the visual path and establish a more direct and impactful entry. The integration of additional plantings played a crucial role in accentuating the linear approach to the residence, enhancing the sense of cohesion and sophistication within the design. Furthermore, our focus extended to reworking the front entry path and guest parking area, culminating in a harmonious and welcoming entry sequence.
The design option that the Boles couple ultimately selected promises to deliver an elegant and visually impactful entrance to their beautiful home and property. By reimagining the front entry and driveway, we are not only enhancing the overall aesthetic but also ensuring that the landscape aligns seamlessly with their vision. The Boles landscape design project exemplifies the transformative potential of thoughtful design choices and their ability to establish a sense of place and connection between a residence and its surrounding environment.
